Overlap- Staging and placement of shapes in foreground, mid ground, and background is an extremely important part to understand how to establish depth with environments, especially organics.
Grouping- They work in unison supporting each other to create visual reads and establish relationships with other parts of the composition. With overlap we can establish depth, directional flow, movement within a composition, and if done correctly a theme with an emotional read provided for the audience.
Focal Point- you can have a focal point placed inside the midground. A skull, animal skull, castle, small cabin, old car, crashed plane, old rocks... (we do a old house next project)
